Daylong hartal in Sirajganj Thursday
District 18-party alliance called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Thursday protesting the killing of a Jamaat activist and a Chhatra Dal leader in clashes with cops at Belkuchi upazila on Wednesday.
BNP executive committee member Amirul Islam Alim and district Jamaat secretary Shahinul Islam Shahin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Allude to two people, including an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami and a root level leader of Chhatra Dal, were killed in a triangular clash among Awami League, BNP and law enforcers in Belkuchi upazila of the district town on Wednesday, the second-day of 48-hour blockade.
On Tuesday, a passerby, who was identified as Sakman Hossain, was killed in a clash between cops and BNP supporters in Jagai intersection of Sirajganj town.
