Its Standing Committee member RA
Gani said their 18-Party alliance was not afraid of the “ongoing repression” to
suppress the “mass movement”.
The degree of the movement will rise if
repression got intensified, he said at a press briefing on Sunday
afternoon.
The Opposition will get what it wanted through its agitation
on the streets, he said.
He urged the government to meet the non-party
polls-time dispensation and take initiative to ensure participation of all
parties in the next elections.
Gani said the government will have to take
responsibility for any unpleasant consequences if it held a ‘one-sided’
vote.
The senior BNP leader briefed the mediapersons at the party
Chairperson’s Gulshan office. It was the first one since Joint Secretary General
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was arrested on Nov 30.
Gani also demanded immediate
release of the arrested BNP senior leaders and
activists.
